"You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement." -Steve Prefontaine

Having fun and cooling down

I am one of the lucky people who has a pool in the backyard. Today, after mid 80 degree weather and lots of humidity, it was time to take a dip. But rather than just float around in the 3 feet deep round pool, it served a perfect time to do what I like to call swim jog. Swim jogging is quite easy really, unless you try and go against the current. With a pool as shallow as mine, it's super easy to get my feet under me and start trucking around the pool. It works everywhere and although the water makes it a bit easier than regular jogging, it's really good for a nighttime workout and a way to cool off from the heat.

Although I'm sure my parents thought I was crazy, I actually really enjoyed the workout. It served the purpose I wanted it to. I'm always constantly looking for little ways to up my exercise amounts and lose more calories and this is just one of those ways.
