I previously mentioned my distaste for the sun. Well, I broke my "I only walk/jog/run at night" rule. In order to fit in my second day of C25K today I needed to make it a morning walk/jog. And I really wanted to stick to my plan of today being day two. So I rolled out of bed, threw on some clothes, grabbed a bottle of water, and I was off. In some ways it was easier than day one. BUT the heat. It was nearing 80* by the time I finished up. The boob sweat was RIDICULOUS. But the run itself wasn't too bad. I feel like my breathing is already improving. I made it through all thirty minutes and I didn't yell at poor Constance(the voice I use on my C25K app) this time.
All that said I must point out that I am still not a fan of the sun. Or at least not the summer sun, and I will be sticking to my night runs/jogs, at least until it cools off. I probably won't be doing day three until Sunday, though I'll be taking walks and using my Zombies, Run! app during my break. I have several other posts I want to write between now and then, so look for those. I want to share my recipe for a sweet, yummy, and healthy drink I have after my walks or jogs. I'm also in the process of setting my first goal, which I'm really excited about. It involves a fantastic charity and one of my favorite places! For now I'm going to go finish the plate of fruit in front of me and maybe have a Coke, yes a Coke. It's an addiction I'm just not going to break. But more on that later.....
This is why i do 6am runs. People think I'm crazy but its mid 60s instead of 80s and feels like a wonderful spring day.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Running at 6 am is far easier than later. Low - Mid 60's to start, with it feeling in the 70's later... Far better to jog in, and a nicer environment.
